The Chromebooks are here! The Chromebooks are here!

Due to a mix-up at district headquarters my Chromebooks just arrived on the 6th. However, I am attaching a Powerpoint I did with all my kids to introduce them to the lab rules and the district Internet rules, before the Chromebooks arrived. I am also attaching my Internet Driver's License template for the licenses the students receive once they have their district acceptable use policy form in and signed. If anyone can use these please feel free to take them and make any changes you want. You have my blessing.

Questions? Well, I just attended the Washington Library Media Association Convention and now I'm all gung-ho to become Google certified. I've already talked with the district person about the possibility. So my biggest questions at this point are about how I become more familiar with the Google environment and software.

Right now the Chromebooks are cataloged and out on the library tables. Students are already using them during recess and the first lesson I'm going to be teaching them is basic Chromebook usage, and how to use the library website with the Chromebooks. Then it's on to Myon, keyboarding, web-browsing, site evaluation and more, yes more!.

You cannot imagine how excited I am about this. I spent the entire last year with NO TECHNOLOGY in my library and now I can plan a full technology curriculum. It's going to be great!
