Duration: 
Four Weeks
Objective: 
Students will use the program Pages to produce the final draft copy of their children's picture books.
Resources:

Preparation: 

Before I begin instruction, I will prepare the template in pages for the children's book.  I will include the number of pages needed, the font size (24).  I will then put the template into each students folder.

Instruction: 

In this lesson, I will introduce the children's book lesson with a book pass of different samples of picture books.  The students will then have to list what kind of book they are writing, who their main characters are, where their stories will take place and what is the problem/solution in their plot.

After those items have been okayed, they will then write their rough drafts.  They must have a title page, a dedication page and a18 page book.  Their books will end with a summary page.

After their rough draft has been written and edited they will type it on their computers using the Pages program.  After it has been typed and edited, the books will be printed off and the students will draw their own illustrations for each page. 

Assessment: 

Students will be successful when they have completed an error free illustrated final copy in the program "pages"
